ISE 2025 Recap: A remarkable week in Barcelona

ISE 2025 Recap: A remarkable week in Barcelona

A white Model S Soundbar at ISE 2025

ISE 2025 has officially wrapped up, and what a week it was – a record-breaking attendance of 85.351 verified visitors from 168 countries. Likewise, for Steinway Lyngdorf, ISE 2025 was an outstanding platform to engage with partners, showcase our latest advancements, and strengthen our collaborations. At our booth, we presented a live demo of the Steinway & Sons Model S Soundbar, powered by the P100 processor and A2 amplifier. We also introduced the brand-new BWS-210 in-wall woofer, expanding our woofer portfolio to seven models, from stackable installation solutions to extraordinary in-room designs with our signature high-gloss piano lacquer.

At our co-booth with Barco and Primetheater, we showcased the Model S Soundbar in high-gloss black with gold trim, while at our main booth, it was displayed in custom white with chrome trim, highlighting its design versatility. Another standout was the Model S-15 stored appropriately in an extravagant golden safe and placed next to a gold-plated sofa, both handcrafted by interieur design experts Boca Do Lobo from Portugal.

A highlight of the week was our exclusive Happy Hour in the Garden Lounge Area F, where our partners gathered to enjoy drinks while experiencing the Steinway & Sons Marine Speaker, a product designed for ultimate outdoor performance.

For those who couldn’t attend, watch as our Sales and Operations Manager Simon Schino presents the Steinway & Sons Model S Soundbar (watch it here) and the new in-wall woofers (watch it here) in two interviews with Rave Pubs, and see our Sales Director in UK Charlie McClarron discuss the Lyngdorf FR-2 speaker and the Steinway & Sons Model S Soundbar in a feature from Home Cinema Alliance (watch it here).

CEPro also visited our booth and after seeing the new Lyngdorf FR-2 and the Model S Soundbar commented “the Steinway Lyngdorf booth featured some of the most attractive speakers and soundbars on the market“. You can read their report here.

Steinway Lyngdorf extends its custom installation portfolio with the new high-performance in-wall woofer BWS-210

Steinway Lyngdorf extends its custom installation portfolio with the new high-performance in-wall woofer BWS-210

Steinway Lyngdorf extends its custom installation portfolio with the new high-performance in-wall woofer BWS-210

Steinway & Sons BWS-210 in-wall woofer

Steinway Lyngdorf launches the BWS-210, a high-performance in-wall woofer specifically made for Steinway & Sons speaker installations requiring the most shallow woofer solution. The BWS-210 adds to the BWS-110 launched last year and was designed to offer an in-wall woofer with an even higher dynamic range and SPL.

The BWS-210 is the brand’s seventh woofer model, a portfolio ranging from stackable installation woofers to extraordinary in-room woofers featuring the trademark high-gloss piano lacquer.

Precise, punchy and powerful bass

BWS-210 stands for Boundary Woofer Shallow, incorporating two 10-inch bass drivers. The model is designed as a high-performance in-wall woofer for custom installations that require the most shallow woofer solution yet with the best bass performance. The BWS-210 utilizes a patented high-excursion shallow woofer design, customized for Steinway Lyngdorf and based on an innovative voice-coil / cone geometry and suspension which allows the highest excursion from the most space-saving construction. A four-layer voice coil, ultra-rigid dual aluminum cone, a very powerful neodymium magnet and an extremely rigid cast aluminum basket provide impressive bass performance, matching the renowned sound quality of Steinway & Sons speakers.

Perfectly fits 6 inch / 15 cm wall cavities

The rigid and sealed enclosure is easy to integrate and perfectly fits 6 inch / 15 cm cavity walls, while the extended height provides the large inner cabinet volume required for remarkable bass extension. In combination with the two very powerful 10-inch bass drivers, the BWS-210 delivers an outstanding bass performance from a slim design. It is the ideal solution for any media room and home cinema with no space for placing woofers in the room. It comes with a paintable, magnetically held grill to cover the woofer front.

Integrated System Approach for the best sound performance in any room

As with every Steinway & Sons loudspeaker, the BWS-210 is part of the company’s Integrated System Approach, ensuring all parts of the system, from the speaker to the woofers to the powerful digital amplifiers and the stereo or surround processors, work perfectly together as one. Steinway Lyngdorf’s incorporated RoomPerfectTM technology acoustically calibrates the speaker and woofer performance to the room acoustics, while the unique Bass Management achieves the very best sound integration between the chosen Steinway & Sons speakers and woofers. This ensures the best sound experience for every customer, in any room and any speaker layout.

The BWS-210 production will start in March 2025 at Steinway Lyngdorf in Skive, Denmark.

FIDELITY Award 2024 for Model A

Model A speakers with Fidelity award

FIDELITY magazine from Germany made a full Steinway Lyngdorf tour: They visited Steinway & Sons in Hamburg to experience how the pianos are made, listened to the legendary Model D at an interieur designer’s place, visited the Steinway Lyngdorf production facility in Denmark, and finished the tour with listening to the Model A speakers at the German distributor Drei-H. They were so impressed that they awarded the complete Model A system to be one of the product highlights of the year. Here is their official jury comment:

“The Steinway Lyngdorf sound systems merge the tradition and build quality of Steinway & Sons pianos with the intricate hi-fi technology from Lyngdorf: The electronics of the Model A are housed separately and feature an integrated network player as well as digital room correction which ensures that this exquisite system always plays at its best, no matter the environment. The Danish manufacturer’s unique digital amplifiers provide exceptional dynamics and musicality. Is this just a loudspeaker or actually art? “

Steinway Lyngdorf launches soundbar

Steinway Lyngdorf launches soundbar

Model S Soundbar in white living room

Steinway Lyngdorf announces the launch of the first Steinway & Sons soundbar, the Model S Soundbar. The Steinway & Sons Model S Soundbar redefines the audio performance of a soundbar. It delivers extraordinary clarity, outstanding musicality, and exceptionally powerful bass, combined with the signature design, materials, and craftsmanship of the world’s finest piano manufacturer, Steinway & Sons. The Model S Soundbar is driven by incredibly powerful digital amplifiers, while the innovative RoomPerfect™ technology calibrates it for any room and placement.

The world’s largest and most powerful soundbar

The Model S Soundbar is the world’s largest and most powerful soundbar, a high-performance design with two powerful woofers, three Air Motion Transformer tweeters, and three midrange drivers for extraordinary clarity and details, all powered by four digital amplifiers with a combined 1.600 watt. The extremely rigid and heavy enclosure is made from machined solid aluminum front and back panels, housing a low-resonance MDF frame with five acoustically separated chambers inside. This provides the ideal foundation for the loudspeaker drivers and ensures the purest sound from the highest to the lowest notes – even when playing louder.

Exceptional loudspeaker technology

The Air Motion Transformer tweeters with Kapton foil and the midrange drivers with anodized aluminum cones are powered by very strong neodymium magnets. The left-center-right configuration allows a very stable center soundstage and imaging, either in pure stereo or with center channel upmixing / multichannel downmixing in the digital Steinway & Sons processor. The two 10’’ woofers are a high-excursion design with a four-layer voice coil, anodized aluminum cone, very powerful neodymium magnet, and an ultra-rigid cast aluminum basket. The result is an exceptional bass performance, unheard of with common soundbars.

Signature Steinway & Sons design

The Model S Soundbar is one of the finest soundbar designs on the market. The black front is complemented by signature gold-plated tweeter frames and bronze-gold lacquered sides with black strings, resembling the piano and musical instruments. Every Model S Soundbar is assembled and finished by hand in Skive, Denmark, made to the same quality standards as a Steinway & Sons piano and giving this soundbar its unmistakable appearance and longevity. Customized lacquers and finishes are available on request.

Integrated system with digital amplifiers and room calibration

As with every Steinway & Sons loudspeaker, the Model S Soundbar is part of the company’s Integrated System Approach, ensuring all parts of the system, from the speaker itself to the external Steinway & Sons stereo or surround processors and powerful digital amplifiers, work perfectly together as one. Steinway Lyngdorf’s RoomPerfect™ technology is the finishing touch for each system. RoomPerfect™ acoustically calibrates the Soundbar to the room acoustics, always ensuring the very best sound experience for every customer, in any room and any speaker placement.

Availability

The new Steinway & Sons Model S Soundbar will be available end of Q3 2024. System prices depend on the choice of stereo or surround processor.

Statements from the team

“The new soundbar is not meant to be of lesser quality or a compromise on sound, as many other soundbar solutions are. I think you will see that the size and the look signals that this is not a compromise but rather meant for a smaller setup, with the same Steinway Lyngdorf quality. This is for the installations where our other products do not fit, but you still want a Steinway product with your TV.” Thomas Birkelund, CEO and CTO at Steinway Lyngdorf

“Tapping into new customer segments was the first thing our sales channel partners commented when they experienced our initial soundbar concept showcased at the ISE 2024. These segments desire the absolute ultimate system for their TV sound, while also seeking a beautifully integrated sound solution with no freestanding speakers or woofers. With our Model S Soundbar, we have achieved just that: bringing the sound quality of our premium Steinway Lyngdorf systems into a single piece.” Anker Haldan, CCO at Steinway Lyngdorf

“With the Steinway & Sons Model S Soundbar, we are redefining what is possible from the audio performance of a soundbar. It is an outstanding speaker for on-wall or furniture placement, with or without a TV, that takes the intensity and energy of music and movie soundtracks seriously. With the immaculate lacquering and signature Steinway & Sons details, it is designed like no other soundbar.” Roland Hoffmann, Product Marketing Director at Steinway Lyngdorf

The Seamless Integration of the Marine Speaker

The Seamless Integration of the Marine Speaker

Revolutionizing Superyacht Audio: The Seamless Integration of the Marine Speaker

In a groundbreaking collaboration with Future Automation, Steinway Lyngdorf set out to elevate the luxury superyacht experience by integrating high-performance marine speakers in an unprecedented manner. The ambition was to seamlessly merge state-of-the-art audio technology with the sophisticated design of a luxury superyacht, resulting in the Steinway & Sons Marine Speaker that hinge out of the deck itself.

The mechanism is designed to safely store the speakers inside the deck of a yacht when not in use to shield them during adverse weather on open-sea voyages. The mechanism is also loadbearing to allow users to stand on or walk over the mechanism in both the open and closed positions. Hinging the Marine Speaker reduces the in-ground depth requirements, which is critical when vertical space is limited between the floors of a luxury superyacht.

Achieving this elegant and smooth motion of the speakers emerging from the deck is made possible through our partnership with Future Automation, leveraging their exclusive servo-driven technology. This show-stopping movement is a truly unique way to wow clients seeking the finest audio integration for their superyachts.

Steinway Lyngdorf launches new Model C loudspeaker

Steinway Lyngdorf launches new Model C loudspeaker

Steinway Lyngdorf launches new Model C loudspeaker

Steinway & Sons Model C loudspeaker

Steinway Lyngdorf announces the launch of the new Steinway & Sons Model C loudspeaker. The Model C is a direct descendant from the first and original Steinway & Sons loudspeaker, the iconic Model D, sharing some of its core speaker technology but in a much smaller, lighter design. The downsizing has been achieved by separating the woofers from the main speaker, adapting the company’s boundary woofer technology.

Follow-up model of the original Model C

The first Model C was introduced in 2008, following the top-of-the-range Model D loudspeaker. The new Model C MK II launched at the ISE 2024 has an even more elegant and lighter design, with extended black strings on the backside replacing the former amplifier and crossover box, which are now part of the external digital amplifiers and processor. The sound performance has also been improved, with the crossover and sound alignment between all drive-units now entirely and losslessly in the digital domain. The Model C provides the highest sound quality at the level of the iconic Model D speaker, with enhanced room placement flexibility from a smaller design and separate woofers.

Unique open dipole loudspeaker design

The Model C’s distinct open baffle dipole design means no air compression and no sound coloration from a common speaker enclosure, leading to a very pure, transparent, high-resolution sound from the renowned Air Motion Transformer tweeter and two precision-cast magnesium cone midrange drivers. The exposed design also resembles an open piano, with the bronze-gold lacquered frame and fascinating sound technology details visible from the back side. Every Model C is assembled and finished by hand in Skive, Denmark. The black lacquered and gold-plated parts are made to the same quality standards as a Steinway & Sons piano, giving the speaker its unmistakable appearance. Customized lacquers and finishes are available on request.

High room flexibility and bass performance from separate woofers

Freeing the Model C loudspeakers from the woofers allows a very elegant and slim design with more room placement flexibility, while the bass performance improves due to Steinway Lyngdorf’s unique boundary woofer concept. Two accompanying woofers are amplified separately and placed elsewhere in the room near the room corners, ensuring an extraordinary reproduction of any music, with tight yet also deep and powerful bass, up to astonishingly high volume levels. Different Steinway & Sons boundary woofers can be chosen according to room size, interior design, and desired sound performance.

Integrated system approach with fully active, digital crossover design

As with every Steinway & Sons speaker, the Model C is part of the company’s Integrated System Approach, ensuring each part of the system, from the speakers and boundary woofers to the Steinway & Sons stereo or surround processors and powerful digital amplifiers, is designed from the ground up to work perfectly together. Tweeter, midrange drivers and woofers have their own digital amplifier, with all crossover, distance alignment, and sound tuning entirely inside the digital processor. Steinway Lyngdorf’s RoomPerfect™ technology is the finishing touch for each integrated system. RoomPerfect™ acoustically calibrates the speakers and woofers to the room acoustics, always ensuring the very best sound experience for every customer, in any room.

Availability

The new Steinway & Sons Model C will be available in Q2 2024. System prices depend on the choice of stereo or surround processor and boundary woofer model.

Statements from the team

“Just like the Steinway & Sons grand piano has been synonymous with outstanding craftmanship and uncompromising quality since 1853, the Model C and D have also been the pinnacle of the speaker systems from Steinway Lyngdorf. With this update we bring the Model C back to life with a much more elegant expression but with the same aesthetics and effortless sound that makes it the centerpiece of your home.”
Thomas Birkelund, CEO and CTO at Steinway Lyngdorf

“Our best speaker is no doubt the iconic Model D, which started the company’s partnership with Steinway & Sons. But not everyone can place such a statement speaker in their livingroom. The new Model C has the exact same open dipole midrange and tweeter section, while the bass performance comes from the acoustically ingenious boundary woofer concept. This merges the best of both worlds, in a truly elegant and light speaker design showing the distinct materials and appearance of the world’s finest piano.”
Roland Hoffmann, Product Marketing Director at Steinway Lyngdorf

“Model C has been our hidden gem for quite some time. It is the more space-saving version of the full-range Model D, designed for smaller rooms. Taste and interior design needs have changed since its first introduction. To honor this evolution, we have redesigned the Model C to enhance its visual impact: sleeker, more discreet, and more contemporary – embodying the essence of the Model C. All this is achieved without compromising audio performance, and we are confident that the Model C MK II will be welcomed by a broader audience seeking the ultimate experience in all aspects of their homes.”
Anker Haldan, CCO at Steinway Lyngdorf
