The Hidden Cinema Experience

When the Parry family first visited the demo room at our partner Zebra Home Cinema, they were blown away. The experience sparked questions – not just about speakers and screens, but about how a room can make you feel something. That curiosity became the starting point for something truly special: a private cinema built into the basement of their outdoor fitness and leisure complex. The brief was clear – fantastic audiovisual performance in a cosy and contemporary space which was inviting.

Together with Virtus Integration, the vision took shape. What emerged is more than a cinema. It’s a hidden sanctuary for shared moments, movie nights, and complete immersion.

A complete Lyngdorf ecosystem

The family had already experienced what Lyngdorf Audio processing and RoomPerfect™ could do. They knew the clarity. They felt the control. And they wanted that same emotional impact at home.

A full Lyngdorf Audio system was specified for a Dolby Atmos immersive setup – carefully integrated into the room’s design. The aesthetic played a key role, especially the sleek look of our BW-20 boundary subwoofers, which blend beautifully into the space while delivering powerful, controlled bass.

Classic cinema soul – contemporary comfort

From that early wish, the atmosphere was defined. Rich red seating sets the tone, while a fibre-optic star ceiling and warm, dimmed LED lighting create an intimate glow. Fabric walls and wooden panels add texture and warmth, blending traditional cinema references with contemporary design.

Even the entrance tells a story. A secret panel door from the gym above reveals the space, and an illuminated movie poster sets the scene before you step inside. It’s theatre before the film even begins.

A space they never want to leave

Today, the cinema is at the heart of the family’s downtime. Long evenings disappear into streaming favourites like Slow Horses and Stranger Things. They admit they had never truly experienced surround sound at their local multiplex – not like this. The immersion, the energy, the emotional weight of a soundtrack done right. In fact, they’ve said they have no desire to go back to the commercial cinema.

First-time guests? Completely blown away. The “secret cinema” reveal never gets old – and it’s a powerful reminder of how meaningful a dedicated entertainment space can be.
