For a passionate sports fan, the brief was twofold — a powerful large-screen experience for live sporting events, and a private cinema where films could be enjoyed exactly as they were meant to be felt. Working with Sinemas, the result is a home cinema that effortlessly balances performance, comfort, and design. A room that doesn’t just impress — it connects.

For Andy Bell and the Sinemas team, Lyngdorf Audio is the natural choice when designing immersive cinema spaces. After decades of experience and more than 150 high-end cinema installations, Andy describes the Lyngdorf sound with one word: emotional. Set within one of the finest homes in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, the cinema was designed to complement the interior rather than compete with it. Distinctive finishes and thoughtful detailing ensure the room feels like a natural extension of the home — elevated, but never out of place. Even the architecture plays a role in the experience. Entering from the rear and stepping down into the seating area creates a sense of anticipation, while clever structural work made space for two seating rows, a bar, and uninterrupted views of the impressive 4-metre screen.

Today, the cinema is part of daily life. Films, live sports, and family gatherings fill the room — often flowing naturally into the adjacent games room. First-time reactions, however, are something special. Seeing a client moved to tears during the very first movie says everything.
